St. Lucie County is Mobile & Social 

St. Lucie County's Communications Division is always looking for ways to reach residents and visitors, whether it is through our websites, government access channel (SLCTV Comcast 28 / U-Verse 99), social media, mobile apps or traditional media outlets such as newspapers and television stations.

Kilmer Library Hosts Medicare Workshops Nov. 17 & Nov. 30

Officials with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs will offer two free workshops on Medicare coverage at the Susan Broom Kilmer Branch Library this November.

Medicare 101 will take place on Friday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. covering the different parts of Medicare and how to decide between Original Medicare and a Medicare Advantage plan. Topics include:

  • Introduction to Medicare
  • Original Medicare (parts A & B)
  • Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C)
  • Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D)
  • Financial Assistance Programs

     

    Medicare Prescription Plans is scheduled for Friday, Thursday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. and is designed to help residents understand prescription drug benefits, eligibility and enrollment, and teach you how to choose a Medicare drug plan. Topics include:

  • Who can get Plan D
  • When can they get it
  • Financial Assistance Programs

 

These free presentations are provided by Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elderly (SHINE). The SHINE Program supports the Florida Department of Elder Affairs’ mission by providing free and unbiased health insurance counseling through a dedicated network of volunteers, empowering Florida seniors to make informed healthcare choices.
