Free Fair Housing Certification Training Comes to St. Lucie County

St. Lucie County Community Services Department is sponsoring a free Fair Housing certification training by the Fair Housing Center of the Greater Palm Beaches on Wednesday March 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Havert L. Fenn Center, 2000 Virginia Ave.

If you deal with housing, you deal with Fair Housing. This free training session is a great resource for Realtors, lenders, landlords, homeowners associations, and any other organization or business that is involved in housing. The general public is welcome to attend.

The class provides certification and continuum services to housing providers, which will allow for the most pro-active approach to practical day to day issues. The comprehensive course consists of an interactive presentation by an expert trainer and follow up future counseling, which assures for a long lasting and solid Fair Housing company policy.

The Fair Housing Act protects people from discrimination when they are renting, buying, or securing financing for any housing. The prohibitions specifically cover discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability and the presence of children. Fair Housing training is a crucial part of a company’s Fair Housing policy. Good workplace Fair Housing policies broaden housing choices for home seekers and help ensure violations are avoided.
