The pre-application is a forum in which the applicant and members of the Development Review Committee (DRC) discuss issues related to project concept. The purpose of this meeting should be to communicate to the reviewing staff, the decision-makers and the public what is being proposed and how the proposal meets and complies with the County's Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code.

Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission Meetings
The P&Z Commission is St. Lucie County's designated Local Planning Agency in accordance with the Local Governmental Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act, F.S. 163.3174. The P&Z Commission have the powers and duties to initiate, review and/or make recommendations on an amendment, approval, approval with conditions, approval with modifications or disapproval on applications for development and/or amendments to the St. Lucie County Official Zoning Atlas and text of the Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan in the unincorporated part of St. Lucie County. Board of Adjustment (BOA) Meetings
The BOA has the power to authorize variances from the dimensional, flood plain and airport height requirements of the St. Lucie County Land Development Code, hereinafter referred to as the Code; the power to authorize eminent domain waivers; the powers to hear and decide appeals initiated by any person, officer, board or bureau of St. Lucie County aggrieved by any decision, order, determination or interpretation of any administrative official of the County with respect to provisions of the Code and to adopt rules of procedure that are not in conflict with the provisions of the Code. Historical Commission Meetings
As a matter of public policy, the protection, enhancement, and perpetuation of properties of historical, cultural, archaeological, aesthetic, engineering, and architectural significance are in the best interest of the health, prosperity and welfare of the people of St. Lucie County. As such, the St. Lucie County Historical Commission is hereby created and established as a committee of the St. Lucie County Board of County Commission with the power, authority and jurisdiction to recommend local historic designations; issue Certificates of Appropriateness; and regulate and administer the historical, cultural, architectural and archaeological resources in St. Lucie County, which are complementary to those of the Historic Preservation Officer.
