Florida Memory
Florida Memory is an outreach tool for the Florida Department of State's Division of Library and Information Services. The website provides access to thousands of documents, photographs, films and audio recordings from the collections of the State Library and Archives of Florida. Florida Memory houses photographs and documents related to almost every city, town or county in Florida, from Alachua to Zephyrhills.
Florida's Lost Tourist Attractions
A site with lots of nostalgia featuring, at last count, 56 classic Florida attractions now only a memory. "I'm creating this site as an homage to the diversity that was Florida tourism, and, as my research fills things in, I'll be delving into the details of those forgotten places and updating this page with a record of this largely uncharted chunk of the state's history."

Highwaymen
The Highwaymen were a group of 15 self-taught African American painters from Fort Pierce. In the 1950s and 60s they worked their way out of poverty by painting upwards of 50,000 stylistic Florida landscapes and selling them all over the state from the backs of their cars. Their paintings (characterized as motel art) celebrated a picture postcard image of natural Florida, a dream of how Floridians wanted to see their state and how they wanted it to be seen by others.
