Monday, September 26, 2011 - County To Host Redistricting Meeting Oct. 11
St. Lucie County’s Planning and Development Services staff will hold an informative Town Hall meeting to review the proposed reconfiguration of County Commission districts and receive public input on Tuesday, Oct. 11 starting at 6 p.m., in the Commission Chambers, located on the 3rd floor of the St. Lucie County Administration Building, 2300 Virginia Ave.St. Lucie County staff is in the process of County Commission redistricting. State law requires the County to reconfigure commission district boundaries in the year following the Decennial Census. Population growth over the past 10 years has created an imbalance of population in each district. Part of the redistricting process involves moving district boundaries in order to rebalance the population distribution in each district.

Please note that the St. Lucie County Commissioners run for office “at-large,” meaning St. Lucie County residents can still vote for any commission candidate regardless of which district they reside in.
