Monday, April 2, 2012 - Fort Pierce Library Announces April Movies

The Fort Pierce Branch Library announces its ''Friday Matinee'' lineup for April with two Alfred Hitchcock and two James Bond films. Held every Friday, the library presents a free film, starting at 2 p.m.
  • April 6 - "Rich and Strange" (1931) featuring Henry Kendall and Joan Barry. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Believing that an unexpected inheritance will bring them happiness, a married couple instead finds their relationship strained to the breaking point. Running time: 92 minutes; not rated.
  • April 13 - "Vertigo" (1958) featuring James Stewart and Kim Novac. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. A San Francisco detective suffering from acrophobia investigates the strange activities of an old friend’s wife, all the while becoming dangerously obsessed with her. Running time: 128 minutes; PG.
  • April 20 – “From Russia With Love” (1963) featuring Sean Connery, Lotte Lenya and Robert Shaw. James Bond willingly falls into an assassination plot involving a naive Russian beauty, in order to retrieve a Soviet encryption device that was stolen by SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion).Running time: 115 minutes, rated PG.
  • April 27 – “Moonraker” (1979) featuring Roger Moore, Michael Lonsdale, Lois Chiles and Richard Kiel. James Bond investigates the mid-air theft of a space shuttle and discovers a plot to commit global genocide. Scenes from this movie were filmed on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River in Port St. Lucie. Running time: 126 minutes; PG.
