Wednesday, April 11, 2012 - Extension Office Offers Green BMP Workshop April 24
Recently, local municipalities from St. Lucie and Martin and Indian River Counties have put into effect fertilizer ordinances requiring commercial landscape workers who apply fertilizer to become certified in Green Industry Best Manage Practices. To become certified you must attend a six-hour Best Management Practices for the Green Industry workshop and then pass a certification exam with a score of 75 percent or greater. This workshop is intended to provide you with the mandated training and to prepare you to successfully pass the required exam. Once you have satisfied the training requirements you will receive a Best Management Practices certification card signifying your compliance with the ordinances. By earning your certification you will demonstrate your commitment to reducing non-point source pollution from entering our valuable water bodies.CEU’s will be available in the following categories:
- 2 - Ornamental & Turf
- 2 - Private Applicator
- 2 - General Standard/Core
- 4 FNGLA
- 2 - Commercial Lawn & Ornamental
- 2 - Limited Certification Lawn & Ornamental
- 2 - Limited Certification Commercial Landscape maintenance
