Thursday, June 21, 2012 - Indiro Savannahs Preserve Closed For Prescribed Burn June 28-30
St. Lucie County's Environmental Resources Department is temporarily closing Indrio Savannahs Preserve Thursday, June 28 through Saturday, June 30 as the County, the Florida Forest Service, the St. Lucie County Fire District and Indian River State College conduct a prescribed burn at the site.St. Lucie County plans to reopen Indrio Savannahs Preserve on Sunday, July 1.

Part of St. Lucie County's Environmentally Significant Lands program, Indrio Savannahs Preserve is located at 5275 Tozour Road in northern St. Lucie County. It encompasses 297 acres and features three miles of trails, an observation tower and a 35-acre catch-and-release lake with a kayak/canoe launch. St. Lucie County's preserves are open every day during daylight hours.
