Wednesday, March 3, 2010 - Extension Office And IRSC Offer Turgrass Conference March 16
On Tuesday, March 16, the University of Florida/IFAS - St. Lucie County Cooperative Extension and Indian River State College will be partnering to present an Ornamental and Turfgrass Conference and Field Day for golf course and landscape industry personnel. This workshop is designed to teach participants about pesticide ''Best Management Practices,'' how to conduct soil, water, and plant tissue tests, properly identify turgrass weeds, and how to manage a budget in tough economic times. Presentations will be made by Indian River State College and UF/IFAS faculty and industry representatives. There will be hands-on learning activities, lawn and golf course equipment displays and sponsor product updates. The cost of this full-day event is $15 for pre-registration and $20 the day of the event. Registration fee will include refreshments, lunch and pesticide license continuing education units.
