Friday, May 7, 2010 - Wildcat Cove Preserve Closed May 12-13 For Renovations

Wildcat Cove Preserve, located on North Hutchinson Island, will be closed Wednesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 13 as St. Lucie County completes repairs of the entrance roadway to the site.

The 111-acre upland and wetland preserve is scheduled to reopen to the public on Friday, May 14. The work is being performed by Clay's Asphalt of Fort Pierce.
Wildcat Cove Preserve is one of two dog-friendly parks in St. Lucie County that are located on the barrier islands; the other is Walton Rocks Beach, located at 6700 South Ocean Drive, on South Hutchinson Island.

Managed by the St. Lucie County Mosquito Control District, Wildcat Cove Preserve is located at 3399 North A1A, and features two miles of hiking trails, an observation deck and a 52-foot boardwalk/fishing pier over the Indian River Lagoon.
