Monday, August 2, 2010 - Fort Pierce Library Presents Archeologist Dr. Wentz Aug. 19

The Fort Pierce Library is pleased to announce archeologist Dr. Rachel K. Wentz, RPA, will be speaking at the library on Thursday, Aug. 19 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. The topic of her presentation will be "Lasting Landscapes: Florida's Prehistoric Mounds."

This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Wentz graduated from Florida State University with a Ph.D. in anthropology. She has analyzed different remains from prehistoric sites in Florida such as Little Salt Spring and Calico Hill. She has also done skeletal work in St. Croix, England and Ukraine. Dr. Wentz has also taught courses such as physical anthropology, human osteology and forensic anthropology at Florida State University. Dr. Wentz now sits on the board of the Florida Archaeological Council and is a Brevard County Historical Commissioner.
