Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - Iduka Representative To Describe Scholarships At Hurston Branch Library Aug. 25Miguel Martim, founder and executive director of the Iduka Corporation 501(c)(3), will speak at the Zora Neale Hurston Branch Library about available interest-free scholarship loans. This free program is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Iduka's goal is to provide opportunities for micro-lending that connects gifters with students, and incorporates, whenever possible, student volunteerism as a means for students to pay back their loans. Iduka is currently reaching out to all students, including adults, who may qualify for an Iduka loan.
According to Martim: "We feel strongly about our country's goal to have 60 percent of its adult population graduate from college by the year 2020. Our interest-free, micro-loan program is just one more grassroots initiative to help bridge the current gap, one student at a time."
