The Fort Pierce Branch Library announces its ''Friday Matinee'' lineup for May paying tribute to Hollywood star Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011). Held every Friday, the library presents a free film, starting at 2 p.m.
  • May 6 - "National Velvet" (1944) featuring Elizabeth Taylor, Mickey Rooney and Donald Crisp.  A jaded former jockey helps a young girl prepare a wild, but gifted horse for England’s Grand National Sweepstakes.  Running time: 123 minutes; rated G.
  • May 13 - "A Place in the Sun" (1951) featuring Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor and Shelley Winters.  Young George Eastman is thrust into the blue-collar life of a rich uncle’s family business where he’s expected to learn the ropes from the bottom up. Running time: 122 minutes, not rated.
  • May 20 - "Giant, Part I" (1956) featuring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. A sprawling epic covering the life of a Texas cattle rancher, his family and associates. Running time: 100 minutes; rated G.
  • May 27 - "Giant, Part II" (1956) featuring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. A sprawling epic covering the life of a Texas cattle rancher, his family and associates. Running time: 100 minutes; rated G.
