Grants Division

Since 1999, St. Lucie County grant writers have pursued grant funding from outside agencies.  Without this outside grant revenue, some County projects would have been unattainable. The Board of County Commissioners' Grants Division has secured money for development of boat ramps, parks, sidewalks, roads, the emergency operations center, the special needs shelter, energy-efficiency programs and the acquisition of environmentally sensitive lands. Other departments within the County seek out and rely on grant dollars to provide services to the public. From 1999-2009, the County received approximately $169 million in grant revenue from state and federal agencies.
