Fluorescent Bulb Recycling

The Fluorescent Bulb Recycling program is FREE for all residents and available to all businesses for a nominal fee of 20 cents per bulb!

According to scientists at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, landfills represent the only identified human source of dimethyl-mercury released into our atmosphere.  This is due to the improper disposal of fluorescent bulbs and compact fluorescent lights (CFL) in the waste stream instead of recycling them.  All fluorescent bulbs and CFL's contain mercury which is hazardous!
